Mayauel Ward was born in Manhattan Beach, California. He attended El Camino College where he learned glassblowing from Stuart Abelman, his later-to-be boss and brother-in-law.
In 1988 Mayauel Ward started his own glass business making lampwork paperweights in his home. Today his paperweights are collected in the United States as well as Hong Kong, England and Germany. Recently Mayauel has added floral vases, floral perfume bottles and torchwork paperweights to his line. Mayauel Ward's work is known for its fine detail and is in great demand.
