"...French artist Christian de Laubadere. He lives and works mainly in Shanghai where he takes most of his inspiration to create unusual and elegant paintings. He uses a mixed media of charcoal and graphite applied to paper-on-canvas and a top delicate wood shavings. He brings together Chinese and Indian embroidered collars and the finest antique lace from Calles. His famous -sfumato- technique achieves a vaporous effect by applying ash-shades as a foundation. The new collection of paintings of women's head shows his unique ability to tell each time a different story. His influence of the Chinese culture is shown dramatically through his work.
